Paffrath is the middle child of seven children. Her father, Herman Paffrath was also an actor. Her family would stage plays and newscasts at family gatherings to entertain her as she grew as a child. When she turned three years old, older, her mother took her to ballet, tap, and jazz classes.  Paffrath was a Journalism student at the Missouri School of Journalism. She also worked as an intern with Entertainment Tonight Los Angeles while she was at the school.
